At Mazars you can train to become an Audit, Tax or Accounting professional. You will receive a full study package and time off to attend college but, with Mazars your professional qualification is only part of the story. We support all of our trainees with a blended approach to training and development, and as you progress, technical and skills training to enable you to progress to management and leadership positions.

Our School Leaver Programmes offer you the opportunity to gain a professional qualification whilst earning a competitive salary and gaining invaluable experience.
We support our audit trainees through the Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) exams; this usually takes 18 months to two years. You’ll work primarily in audit, but will be exposed to other areas such as tax, assurance and advisory services.
Successful completion of your CFAB may also enable you to ‘fast track’ on to a Chartered Accountancy qualification. This makes the CFAB route a very competitive alternative for talented A level students who are considering whether or not to go to university. You could be fully ACA qualified in as little as 4 years.

You’ll train to become a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT). You will be fully supported through your exams and will gain experience supporting our corporate and personal tax clients.
Tax is a dynamic, ever changing sector at the forefront of economic policy. Mazars also operates a number of in-house courses which will give you technical insight to assist you to keep up with changes in legislation and case law, both in the UK and worldwide.
The ATT qualification will give you excellent introductory tax technical knowledge and practical skills and will take approximately 18 months to complete. You will study whilst gaining relevant tax experience. Following successful completion of your ATT you could go on to study to become a Chartered Tax Advisor through the Chartered Tax Institute of Taxation (CTA).

Internal Audit and Accounting & Outsourcing
AAT stands for the Association of Accounting Technicians. The AAT qualification gives you a great grounding in practical accounting knowledge and skills; and usually takes two years to complete.
Successful completion of your AAT may enable you to further study to become a Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) or a qualified internal auditor through the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). This makes it a very attractive alternative for talented School Leavers who are considering whether or not to go to university.

2. Online Testing and Application Screening
Complete an online Situational Strengths Test (SST) and Numerical Reasoning Test (NRT).
Our Situational Strengths Test will present you with a series of typical scenarios that you might encounter as a school leaver at Mazars. You will be asked to read each scenario and five possible responses. You’ll then get the chance to decide what you would be most likely to do in that situation, by ranking the responses from what you are most likely to do, to what you are least likely to do. Don’t worry if you don’t have any direct experience; you will not require any background knowledge to respond to the situations.
This is a great chance for you to get to learn more about the type of projects school leavers get involved in at Mazars. It will also tell us whether you’d be a great fit with the culture at Mazars, and if you have the strengths to be successful here. Our Numerical Reasoning Test will present you with a series of questions and scenarios that you might encounter as a school leaver at Mazars. You will be asked to read each scenario and decide on your response, which will involve a calculation of some type. Don’t worry if you don’t have any direct experience; you will not require any background knowledge to respond to the situations. The focus of the Numerical Reasoning Test questions is on assessing your capability for real-world calculations that you might experience in your work at Mazars.

You will be re-tested on the online SST and NRT during the latter stages of the assessment process.
Once you’ve successfully completed the online assessments, your application will be assessed to ensure you meet the high standards we set.
3. First interview
If your online application is successful, the next stage is for us to talk. You’ll have either a face to face or telephone interview. This interview will involve assessing capabilities and strengths required for the role. We’ll endeavour to let you know the outcome within one week.
4. Assessment Centre
The assessment centre comprises a strengths-based interview, team assessments and written exercises.
A strengths-based assessment is all about understanding what energises and motivates you, as well as what you do well. Stay calm and be yourself; let your individuality shine through.
You will also have the chance to find out more about Mazars and meet members of the team so you can assess whether we are right for you. We’ll endeavour to let you know the outcome within one week.
Please note, if you are applying for a role within our Accounting Outsourcing team you may attend a final stage interview instead of an assessment centre. We’ll let you know the outcome within one week of your final assessment.
